Process

The plot is shared between stills and motion from the first recce. Colour sits in pre-production, not after picture lock. Finishing is not a stranger at the end of the job, and the archive is named so another team can open it a year later.

River
1

River

A recce of the actual brick and a one-page note of stills versus motion. If a modifier will not travel into coverage, we split the day on paper.

Key
2

Key

Stills and motion share it. No second truck, no second white. Gels and diffusion are named before we leave Linnankatu.

Select
3

Select

Tethered before the sun turns. Selects happen while the key still exists. We do not discover the frame at midnight on a card dump.

Grade
4

Grade

Warm, not a postcard. Brick and skin share a decision. The show LUT is the stills LUT, written in pre-production.

Masters labelled for traffic: print, Rec.709, 1:1 and 9:16. An archive a producer can open a year later.
